Credits and billing
Add credit, turn on automatic top-up, set a monthly limit and see what runs cost.
Runs are paid for with credit, counted in dollars. You buy credit, can top it up automatically, and can cap what runs spend each month. Your personal workspace and each organization have their own credit, and a run is charged to the workspace it runs in.
Open Settings → Billing. The page shows your balance under Credit, the credit added recently, and a Usage chart of what runs spent in the Last 30 days.
Every member of an organization can open this page, but only Admins can change anything on it. For other members the controls are disabled, with the tooltip "Only an owner can change this"; owner here means Admin.
Add credit
Click Add credit.
Type an amount in dollars, or pick one of the preset amounts. One purchase adds between $5 and $1,000.
Click Continue to checkout and pay on Stripe's checkout page.
Without a saved card, the dialog says: "Pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link or stablecoins (USDC) at checkout. A card is saved for next time."
When you come back, a note on the page says whether the credit has arrived. Stablecoin payments can take a few minutes to confirm.
Card
Under Card, click Add card, or Change to replace the saved card, and enter the card in the form. The new card can take a moment to show on the page while Stripe confirms it.
Automatic top-up
Automatic top-up adds credit when the balance runs low, charged to the saved card. It needs a saved card.
Next to Auto top-up, click Manage.
Under When the balance falls below, choose $100, $200 or $500.
Under Add, choose how much each top-up adds: $250, $500 or $1,000. The menu offers only amounts at least as large as the threshold.
Click Enable.
After that, whenever a run's charge leaves the balance below the threshold, V12 charges the card. These top-ups appear under Credit as "Added automatically". To turn it off, open Manage, choose Never under When the balance falls below, and click Disable.
Monthly limit
Under Spending limits, choose a Monthly limit: No limit, $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or $2,500.
The limit counts what runs spent in the last 30 days, the same window as Usage; refunded runs do not count. A run that would take spending over the limit is refused with "Monthly spending limit reached." until you raise the limit.
What a run costs
Every run has a fixed price. When you start a run yourself, the run sheet shows it as the Estimate; see Approve the price.
- The price grows with the code the run reads: the number of files, their lines and their size, or, for a change, the size of the changed files and the number of changed lines.
- Each extra repository in a run is priced on its own, and the prices are added.
- The price is charged in full when the run starts. A draft is not charged.
- A start is refused with "Insufficient credit balance." when the balance is below the price.
